About QSCM
As a registered charity and Ontario not-for-profit, QSCM offers live chamber music concerts and outreach events featuring professional musicians highly regarded in the field.
Free admission ensures that all can attend. This is made possible by the generosity of local donors, business and private, and project grants from municipal governments and the Ontario Arts Council, a provincial government agency.
The work of QSCM is done entirely by volunteers.
The goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of means, is able to experience classical music at its best. The impact is felt locally and beyond as QSCM fosters Canadian musical culture in our rural communities at the grassroots level.

Volunteer Marketing Manager
We are looking for a dedicated individual to manage our digital and print marketing, including owning the overall strategy, working directly with the Board of Directors to meet organizational goals, and day-to-day management of our marketing properties (social media, website, newsletter and print materials).
This is a virtual, non-remunerated position. Our preference is for an individual in or near the Quinte area so that you have first-hand experience with our community, but we are open to volunteers from other parts of Canada or elsewhere in the world.
A reference from the Board of Directors will be provided upon satisfactory completion of the role.
Your accountabilities
We can be flexible with your accountabilities and time commitment. At this time, our greatest needs include:
- Overall Strategy – We lack a cohesive marketing strategy and are looking for the Volunteer Marketing Manager to advise us on an approach to meet our goal of making chamber music accessible to all in the Quinte area.
- Website – We need someone who can maintain the design and day-to-day content updates to our website. This includes adding blog posts, adding information about upcoming events and maintaining our Donors information. Familiarity with technical management of a WordPress site is a bonus but not necessary.
- Newsletter – Our newsletter (and blog) is currently maintained by our Board Chair. We are looking to the Volunteer Marketing Manager to take over ownership of the newsletter. This includes updating subscribers on QSCM events and general engagement with our donors and subscribers.
- Social Media – We have sparsely updated accounts on Facebook, Twitter/X and LinkedIn. We are looking to the Volunteer Marketing Manager to advise us on a social media strategy that will reach our rural audience.
- Print – We require poster and hand bill design and layout, and the creation of brochures, programs and other publicity materials for both events and QSCM promotions in general
Who you will work with
The Volunteer Marketing Manager will work virtually with our Board of Directors, including:
- Outgoing Board Chair – Our current Board Chair will help provide guidance and context to our past marketing efforts and her vision of what is needed to serve our audience.
- Business Operations Consultant – Our Business Operations Consultant will be your day-to-day contact for strategy and operations related matters.
- Artistic Director – Our Artistic Director will provide guidance on our organizational vision as needed.
- Classical Music Specialists / Education Specialists providing / ensuring content is accurate and suited to purpose
